Penthouse terrace
Cet aménagement paysager a été réalisé sur la terrasse d’un penthouse au 5e étage d’une construction récente. La faible surface de la terrasse a imposé l’utilisation de matériaux et de substrat allégés.
Les propriétaires souhaitaient se préserver des futures vis-à-vis avec un bâtiment en construction tout en gardant un espace lumineux et ouvert. L’accent a été donné à l’aspect léger et naturel du projet en cassant les lignes droites tout en privilégiant des plantes champêtres.
Les végétaux ont été sélectionnés pour leur résistance aux conditions météorologiques difficiles imposées par la localisation du projet. Un mélange de plantes persistantes, de graminées et de vivaces assure un roulement des floraisons et des feuillaisons pour une terrasse agréable pendant toute l’année.
Enfin - les propriétaires s’absentant régulièrement de leur logement - un arrosage automatique a été implémenté pour assurer une certaine autonomie à la terrasse.
This landscaping project was carried out on the terrace of a penthouse on the 5e floor of a recently built development. The limited surface area of the terrace required the use of lightweight materials and growing medium.
The owners wanted to shield themselves from potential overlooking by a building under construction nearby, while maintaining a bright and open space. Emphasis was placed on a light and natural feel by breaking up straight lines and favouring cottage-style planting.
The plants were selected for their resilience to the challenging weather conditions imposed by the project's location. A mix of evergreen plants, grasses and perennials ensures a succession of flowering and foliage interest for an attractive terrace throughout the year.
Finally — as the owners are frequently away from their home — an automatic irrigation system was installed to ensure the terrace can largely look after itself.
